Unless your doing something special such as in-wall or over electrical ceiling runs or LONG runs, the HDMI cables are all the same with cosmetic and Marketing/Name recognition differences. Your average setup with runs under 10' ANY cable will work. There are MANY threads dealing with this topic and many links to inexpensive cabling companies. Don't waste money on brands like Monster.
There are many independant studies that prove my $5 "mycablemart or monoprice" cable is as good as that $85 brand name cable with the fancy package. |

I called Monoprice after people on here recommended them. The guy at Monoprice said that "other companies..." (after I mentioned Monster) "..put limiters in their cables so you don't get full functionality unless you buy their most expensive cable range" He then said Monoprice V1.3 cables are all fully functioning. So even if you spend 10 times the price on a Monster 700 HDMI cable, you are going to be more limited, because you didnt buy their 1000 cable...

That's fine, so why are there different versions at Monster? Surely you do not need 5Gb/s+ cable when the Blu Ray movie is no more than 35-50mb/s? Maybe I just don't understand it all, but something's dodgy in their marketing
