Default Metallica is worth the game download...

I got the new Metallica cd a day early cause i bought concert tickets...
And if anyone is wondering, it's way worth getting as a download for
the games it coming out on...

Really liked almost all the cd, was like there old stuff...most songs are like
7-8 minutes long or longer

the music is good but it goes sour as soon as Hetfield starts singing which is a shame but to be expected. A LOT better than St. Anger but not too hard either.

/this coming from a HUGE metallica fan.

The new album rocks. Was at the concert in dublin a few weeks ago and Hetfield shouted they where playing a new song from the album, it was cyanide, and it sounds amazing live. Game is a must download for any metallica fan..For those about to rock, we salute you

I have only heard a few of the songs. The solo at the end of The Day That Never Comes is truly amazing.

Never liked Metallica and never will. to me their songs are too long, have no rhythm & fluidity or very little compared to other bands, lyrics aren't great either

^To each his own. Considering that many of their songs feature classical modes, key changes and time sginature changes.

Metallica sold out after Master of Puppets and every album since then has gotten progressively wimpier.

Nothing wrong selling. They wanted to make more money. May not be "metal", but it is smart. Still one the best live shows around.

Agree 100% ! I will be taking off early to pick up the new CD ! I am hoping for the best ! Master and Justice are the bomb ! And in several reviews I have read they have mentioned both Master and Justice ! I can never go back and live my glory days in 88 but I can still roll with the changes !

Say what you will about Metallica's music they put on one of the best live shows evar even if you aren't a fan you will still get the urge to punch the guy to your left.

P.S. I can't stand Metallica after the black album .. I know the black album is a hot topic since it was a drawback in comparison to ...and justice for all, but I still think it was the final chapter for what I knew as Metallica. Load/ Reload all the crap afterwards has just been nothing of real interest.

I think those albums are very hit or miss. They are either good songs (Outlaw Torn[especially with the orchestra]/Fixxxer are both amazing songs) Or they blow hard.

So this album comes out today, and I saw on Best Buys website that you can get a special collectors edition that comes with 11 songs for Guitar Hero 3, but the sticker says for Xbox 360.... Is the PS3 excluded b/c it will be dlc today on only PS3 and not 360? And I think this SE cd with the GH tracks is only in the USA as I see no mention of it on Best Buy.ca website... Im gonna call them when they open in an hour and find out if we have em in Canada as well and if the songs work on the PS3 version of GH3, as the original announcement said that it would be for both PS3 and Xbox.... I would rather buy the cd for $29.99 that comes with an extra disc than buy the $17.99 dlc on PSN plus the cd sperate....

The Black Album was no doubt a big departure for Metallica, but it was a great album nonetheless.

Load and Reload were not good albums. They possibly could have combined some stuff from both albums and came up with one decent album, but for the most part these were a huge dissappointment.

St. Anger. I see this album as more experimental than anything, they had no clear direction, and I blame Bob Rock for that.

Death Magnetic: The real Metallica is back (and Bob Rock is gone). This is the album I wish they would have released after the Black album. I wish I could take everything in between this and the Black Album and.. make it disappear.

Might as well pick up an older Slayer album. Sounds kinda the same. The problem with Metallica selling out is that what made them great was the fact that they were totally against videos, Mtv, Teenbeat magazine..etc. They sold tons of albums with no radio support or any of the "corporate machine" sales tactics. In 2003 at the MTv awards they friggin played "Beat It"! They became a complete parody of themselves and everything they originally said they were against. They should have changed their name after Cliff died. Hey, nuthin wrong with making $$$$$. Just dont build a following claiming you'll stay the course and then do a 180. Theres a reason why every new Metallica album gets compared with the old stuff. They should have been the backup band for Kanye West and called it a day.... Besides, their only gonna sound as good as whatever producer they have at the time... Rick Rubin = Slayer!
/rant off..

I'm just glad Dave Mustaine started Megadeth. Rust in Peace is one of the greatest records EVER!
I don't much care for bands who sell out to the establishment, and boo-hoo over people downloading off napster. If their music was worth anything people would just buy it.

Yeah they played it, for about 10 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM-L18Hc94Y It was a jam where they played pieces of a number of different songs.
