How many times can you download a game? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey

I searched and didn't find anything on this question, maybe its embedded in some other huge thread...

Anyways, I was wondering how many times you can download a game. I had to do a system format once, and had to re-download a game once as well. I've heard that you can only download a game 5 times per user. However, these people maybe confused with the 5 times you can share your account.

It doesn't make sense for Sony to limit the amount of times an individual user can download a game; if you purchased it, you should be able to have unlimited access to it. But there are a lot of retarded rules out there for downloaded games, so I guess it wouldn't surprise me. Anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance!

i believe as long as you paid for it you should be ok

As far as i know 5x per user is just that id. So even if you shared your id still it counts since they used your account to get it. I've shared mine before.

Yeah, I think 5x sounds about right. You can keep track of it in your Download List once you sign into the PSN.

Per account I believe it's unlimited per machine, for up to 5 machines.

As long as you're downloading to same account you purchased on there shouldn't be a limit, but the common number seems to be 5. I've heard the same number somewhere else too but can't remember where.

Looks like I'll soon be having to re-download everything I've got soon as my 60gb is running out of space (didn't help installing GT5 Prologue and Everybody's Golf one after the other using about 10gb!!). An upgrade on the HD to about 250gb seems in order. Now if only I could find a shop that sold compatible drives.
