Default quick setup qustion

Im re-hooking up my Samsung BDP-1400 in my bedroom and just wanted to run this by make sure it'll work fine. I want to run an HDMI from the player to my receiver, and also run component + standard analog audio cables straight to my LCD. Reason being i watch movies when im going to sleep and i wanted to minimize the amount of components i need to have on and have the audio going through the TV not just the receiver. Im pretty sure it'll work fine, just wanted to make sure the player will be fine running 2 outputs. Thanks.

Should work fine, they would work at the same time as well. I'd think if you are watching using the HDMI, there would be one input on your TV for that, and if you just want to watch directly from the DVD player to the TV, a different input for that.

thanks, yeah i figured it would keep 2 running, it just wont send the HDMI to the tv unless i have the receiver on. so that works.

If the connection from the receiver to the TV is on the same input as from the DVD player to the TV, you could technically control the volume of the TV as additional speakers as your sound system from the receiver. I never use my TV speakers myself but, it could be possible based on your TV's inputs.
