Default Can I get 1080p on this television? Please help

I have a Toshiba 62HM195 62 Inch DLP Projection TV. It says it is an 1080p set. Today I bought a Sony BDP-S300 and hooked it up to the tv using an hdmi cable. I would think that it would work at 1080p but I can't figure it out. so right now i have it set to "Auto" output. But i can't tell what it's outputting. I don't think it has the latest firmware, if that would make a difference.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

yes, it is a 1080p. it will display at 1080p on the S300 remote should be a DISPLAY button and through that you can see if it is 1080p. I am sure though it is automatically displaying 1080p

I have a Toshiba 50HM66 and it always displays what I displaying when I switch to a new mode, like HDMI 1 to HDMI 2. Go to your manual maybe? It should say by default like mine does.

Go back and read your manual on both TV and blu-ray player; look for picture or HDMI setup and check to make sure setting are configured; I would think whenever u hit the display button on the remote, u should look for resolution (1920 X 1080) or 1080p.
