Default Subwoofer distortion of television

Hey guys,

This is probably a dumb or outdated question but I am having a problem with my television. I have a subwoofer near it that is apparently not magnetically shielded. I have noticed that the side of the television screen near the subwoofer is somewhat distorted. The television is a Panasonic 36 inch tube television. Is there any way I can correct this problem? Thanks for all the help.

Move the subwoofer! This was a problem with any unshielded speaker and CRT displays.

That's a degaussing problem.
If you always disconnect your set with stand-by button, try this:
Unplug the set for almost 20 minutes (the internal PTC cool). When you plug again the degaussing circuit will work.
Each time you move the sub or the set it'll be disarranged again.
I hope that could help.
