Default Realistic Video Expectations….

Hey All,

I am new here and forgive me if this has already been reviewed.

I found that when watching the same Blu-ray movie that some of the scenes are incredibly sharp with great depth of field, clarity and so on...then, during the same movie there will be scenes that are not.

My question and I know that there are a ton of variables but I will ask in general terms, is this normal?

Are there some basic things I could check if I may be doing something wrong?

It seems to be with just about every movie and only when I am looking hard and comparing scenes.

Tks.

Blu

this sounds normal to me... a lot of movies do this due to a bad transfer or just to create certain visual effects (the background in a scene is only in focus if it was filmed in focus, if the foreground is in focus and the back is not, its intentional)

but there are some movies where every scene will have stunning clarity... a reference piece for me would have to be Disney/Pixar's Cars... or if you want one that is not animation, I Am Legend or V For Vendetta

I also agree it's normal on quite a few movies. Also, take into account that scenes are shot under different conditions creating some variances.
