Default What percent did you spend on Display/Sound?

when I get my equipment in finally I will have spent about 60% of my money spent on HT on the audio and the other 40% on video (including PS3) and I was just wondering what everyone else spent roughly?

Well, I'm not quite done yet, but so far, I have invested about 40% on audio, 35% on video and 25% on furniture. Yeah, my TV stand is pricey, but it's well designed, made of 100% Pennsylvania hardwood and has thermostatically controlled cooling fans to protect all the electronics!

So far more than 60% for video. To be exact ~ 2.000 Euro for the audio (sub and room treatments still missing) and ~ 6.000 Euro for the video including the BD source (front projector and BD upgrades for the htpc).

A little over 60% of my home theater money was spent purely on audio equipment. That's because I over paid for my tv, got it the week it came out!

Definitely over 60% on audio so far, a trend that shows no sign of changing in my lifetime.

I would say 60% on video 40% on audio...TV was the greatest upgrade and so far for audio i've only done the front, left and right speakers...

I currently sit at about 40% for my audio in my present living condition. If I ever buy a house though, I plan on spending a minimum of 70% on the audio for my HT room.

This is strictly talking about hardware! No Blu-ray discs, PS3 games, or any renovation costs are included in my percentages above.

At this moment, it's been 75% video, 25% sound.

In a few weeks, it'll be 33% video, 67% sound.

I'm currently using a $500 Samsung HTiB - figure out the rest,

Hmm, some day I have to at least try what you audio guys are obsessed with, but anyway I'm playing Blu-rays on my PC, if I don't include the main PC hardware, my screen was about £400, the graphics card about £200 and the speakers wear a £10 pair of stereo speakers from PC world which my dad gave me for free. The sound-card is on-board audio on my motherboard, and I chose that motherboard for the non-audio-related reasons so I'd be a bit over-generous to include that in the percentage for my audio.

So that's 0% on audio, but it would have been about 1%~2% if I'd paid for my speakers.

I've spent approximately 50-50, split evenly between audio and video in my system. My next upgrade will involve a new receiver and speakers, although my Denon/Atlantic Technology setup has proven wonderful to my ears for many years (which is why I haven't actually upgraded yet). Why replace components in my system that work just fine from a reliability and performance standpoint?

Right now my system is sitting around doing nothing until I finish my basement. But I just ordered my new screen, so that puts me about 90/10 Audio/Video.

When I order my new projector it will give the video a big boost and be somewhere around 75%/25% Audio/Video.

Now amp stand/center stand/cables + wires/accoustics/lighting control/remote/seating. Well that is a whole different story.

I probably spent less than 40% on my video. This is do to the fact that I bought a floor model $700 of my TV as A&B Sound were fazing out there CRT tv's. I got my speakers almost free from my parents (grad present) and I spent about $1,300 on a Pioneer Elite Receiver to get the HDMI 1.3.

~50/50 maybe slightly more on audio due to cables etc. This was a combination of employee accomodations and discounts. without it audio will def. be worth higher
