Default Blu-Ray Equipped Laptop only $1299

This system features a BD-ROM/DVD writer capable optical drive for a reasonable price.

This is a great price point. Lot cheaper then the $3,000 notebooks. I wish there was some specs on this unit. If the monitor is 1080P 1920 X 1080 I would think about buying one just to use as a portable BLU-ray player. At this price the monitor might not be true 1080P.

I agree that this looks like awesome deal ! If this laptop is capable to transmit HDCP protected video signal to some other full HD 1080p display device than it would be just too good to be true

The 1299 price does not include a Bluray drive or their higher resolution monitor. 2099 will get you this

Thanks for the correction. 2099 is still not bad for a blu-ray equipped laptop.

This Alienware notebook is a good alternative to Sony VAIO models with Blu-ray. While the price is still steep, Alienware gives you more costumization choices and a better video card/gpu. Too bad I don't have that much to waste.
