I've always been a fan of a little warm breath and the underside of my shirt. For those tough smudges you could probably try a vinegar based window cleaner and a soft cloth or maybe a tissue, just don't use a paper towel.

Well, after i saw the clip on "BD torture test"..I am sure whichever solvents that you'd use wouldn't hurt...

I use a microfiber cloth to clean my discs and PS3 console. I sometimes use the cloth that comes when u buy a pair of sunglasses and it works fine also. For the tough mudges, I use water and the microfiber cloth.
