PS3 and My Reciever - Blu-ray Forum

Sorry if this has been posted a billion times but I have a question about audio hookups on my PS3 and Receiver.

I have an older recevier, its a Yamaha HTR-5630. I am going out of my PS3 with a optical cable to my receiver.

Here is my problem, when i play games or standard DVDs, I will get my sound in 5.1, but when i put a Blu Ray, I am only getting Stereo Sound.

Should I change settings on the PS3?

Please any help would be great.

set optical output to bitstream.

You should set it to bitstream on your PS3. Also, PCM 2.0 might be playing instead of DD or DTS.
