Default Infinity or Polk for cheap system?

Who generally makes the better speaker for the cheap entry level speaker system. I was all set to purchase the Polk RM6750 at Fry's for $200, but saw these Infinity TSS-450 speakers for the same price. I know they are both cheap, but it's all I have in my budget right now.

Here are the 2 speaker systems.

Now you've got me!!!! Both are great speakers but I'm bias. Infinity. Do it - do it now I say (LOL). You can't miss with either one of these.

I stand corrected - the Infinity system is 50 bucks cheaper - with your budget (and your wife to be) get the Infinity hands down.

Thanks, these are both the same price at Fry's and I have one 5 minutes away. I think I'll go with the Infinity due to your recommendation.

The infinity system looks to have a better subwoofer, but the Polks have better specs all around...

I was all set to pick up the Polk yesterday with Onkyo 605 from CC.
All was set until the salesman at CC started being a dick and try to weazle his way out of the 10% coupon they have going on right now.

Its some solid built speakers and they sound great.
I realize that Amazon have them cheaper than CC, so I am not pissed now that the sales guys was being a dick.

If these were car speakers...Polk wins hands down.

Home speakers? i'm sure they make quality sh*t. Pardon my french.

...how much of a difference would you notice if any? who knows. Probably none. Might as well save some money.

Save Money I say Infinity.

Quality I say Polk.

I have had Polk for a long time, I have been very happy!
They are a USA company and stand behind their product.
I do have the higher end equip. but I started on entry level and was happy but I found some great deals next thing you know I was hooked. And the subs are quite nice I have the psw505 and a velodyne very similar sounding except the 505 only cost me $250.00 a fraction of what the Velodyne cost me.

I'm not an audiophile but I got the Polk 6750s a few weeks ago, and they are awesome!!! I can't believe how good they are, I have the Sub set a little higher then everything else, but it rocks! Watched Fast & the Furius Tokyo Drift on HBO and they rocked the house!

Also they are very easy to mount on the wall. I just used herculies hooks you don't need to buy a separate bracket for them.

I'm in the middle of an upgrade to polks

I've replaced my center channel, waiting for a good price on monitor 40s to do the L&R

Then 30s for the surrounds, and I"ll move my existing speakers to the back wall for 7.1 action after my reciever upgrade

I'm in the middle of upgrading to polks as well, but I am doing it the OTHER way...

I have RTi12s for the front, and RTi8's for the rear... now I need to replace my surrounds, and the center (currently Dbx surrounds, and cambridge soundworks center)

I have to say that I love the Polks!

Hate to bring up an old thread, but I just recently acquired a set of Infinity 5.1 speakers, the TSS-450. I must say, for a small living room you can't beat the sound quality! The sub itself is worth the money, watched the Hulk last night, and it shook the couches. Very impressed.

So for someone on a budget, looking for a small 5.1 setup, I'd highly recommend the TSS-450!
