Default Looking at Sharp for the bedroom, suggestions?

hey guys im looking to get a 32 or 37" lcd for my bedroom, i just got a Sharp flyer so im looking at them

even their 32" lcds have 1080p... i know i dont see the point but whatever

would you guys suggest the D64 series or the GP3 series which is supposed to be for gaming??? i dont think ill be doing much gaming on it at all... i might end up hooking my laptop up to it though and play the odd game from it but thats it

or would you guys suggest a different brand altogether

i havent looked at the latest models out from all the brands, im usually a samsung fan for lcds but i saw the new Sharps on display and they looked pretty good (didnt take a look at the samsungs or anything else though)

thnx

I have a 37' Sharp as our main TV. Its the 'old' model, but its a great picture and I've had no issues with it. Got a great deal too!

Anyway, Sharp is a good choice, esp. if you can get a good deal. However, most people on this board will say otherwise, as they all seem to be hard on Sony or Samsung TVs. But, Sharp is great for a not-so-flashy model. Always in the top 5 for LCD TVs sold.

And I believe the only difference between the 'gaming' model and the regular one are the number of HDMI inputs (3 or 4 vs. 2). So, if you are planning on using more than two HDMI-capable devices, the gaming model might be a good selection. Or, you could get the cheaper model, and just buy and HDMI exterior switch for when you need more HDMI inputs.

I have a 37" Sharp 720p and the black-levels Suck.... but the t.v. was free...

For a bedroom, I'd get the 32" (I'm not a big fan of over-powering TVs in the bedroom, but to each his own) 720P in general looks great on my 37" though, so I'd take 1080p out of consideration.

second this.

I have a 32" in my BR and it looks great with 720P.

I do think that a 37" would look better and clearer, but I dont want the TV to be the main theme of the room. I have a decent size master BR too. Not huge by any standard, but big for a townhouse.

If I really want to watch a big 1080P HD screen.. I go downstairs for my big 52"

I have a 46" Sharp Aquos I got around BF in November. HD is real clean, for my first HDTV I'm very happy, I can't wait for the PS3 to arrive so I can see how it looks all hooked up with blu-ray and PS3 games.

I got the LC-C3242U-Sharp AQUOS. I have no complaints and it is wall mounted in my bedroom. It is 720p but its good enough for the bedroom. Got it at Cost-Co for 750 several months ago. They might be down in price now for the newer models.

I have also seen some pretty good looking NEW Sony-Bravia's in 32" for under $700 in 720p. Im thinking of getting one of these for my bedroom and putting the Sharp in my son's bedroom.

I find the Sharp lcd's to be a little more pixelated and jaggie than Sony or Samsung.

I'd agree. In fact, I may get lambasted here, but I think the SONY PQ is slightly smoother than Samsung.
