surround speaker recomendations - Blu-ray Forum

I am in the market for some surround speakers for my sony str-dg820 that should be coming within a couple weeks. I am trying to get the best for the lowest price... any ideas??? I was thinkning about getting the bose bookshelf speakers and putting them back there but then i read the bose article and now i dont want bose... help.....

are you going from 5.1 to 7.1 or adding surrounds for the first time? I'd see if there are any dipoles within your budget.

new setup , i have sony floor speakers and a sony center channel. I really am looking for cheap but good. the bose ones i was looking at were only 160 for a pair, and i would like to stay in that range

In reference to your second choice, http://shop3.frys.com/product/562185...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG, I was looking at these also. According to Polk's website, they are 4 ohm speakers, but I think Best Buy listed them as 8 ohm speakers. If they are 4 ohm speakers, how well do they work with 6 or 8 ohm speakers? (i.e. 8 ohm front and center speakers with 4 ohm surround speakers).

*Disregard this post. I just went back to Polk's website and they now list them as 8 ohms speakers. It must have been a typo when I last saw them.
