Default Surround speaker advice...

Hey, all... just have a quick question about replacing my old surround speakers. They are only 4ohm speakers from an old HTIB that I have finally replaced . I just got a new Yamaha RX-V663 , and I don't want to use these crappy speakers for my surrounds anymore. I don't have a high budget set-up, but I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for a pair of speakers between $50-$100 (preferably at the lower end of this range) that would be good replacements. Everything I have right now is Polk, but if something cheaper will sound good, and since it's just for the rears, then that's fine. I have seen several people mention the smallish Insignias from Best Buy, any thoughts? At only like $40 they are a good deal. Also, if I wanted to complete the set-up in 7.1 instead of 5.1, would the old HTIB speakers be alright? I understad lower ohm speakers can damage a receiver, but I didn't know if this was true for just the surrounds. Thanks for all your help in advance.
