I was watchin a movie and the only to options for sound on the Bluray were 5.1 or some other surround sound option. I don't have any just standard. Does it matter? Am i screwed?

well, if your Bluray player is set to Linear PCM, it will most likely be decoded and sent as two channel to the TV. (you might have to set PCM Downmix)
So I think you would be ok. Now, if the player is set to bitstream and you play a DTS track...most TV's do not even support Dts, so you would be in trouble yes. Dolby Digital might work fine because most TV's do support dolby digital. |
