Cool Will any live sport even be hit in the Blu-ray? (NBA, NFL, MLB etc..)

I haven't see any live sport event other than wrestlemania hit blu-ray, why is that, since they were shot with HD camcorder, will not be hard to make a transfer, why they still not in the market yet?

I wish old Michael Jordan videos or Bulls championship videos would make it to blu-ray, but I don't see that happening..

I wish they would release some of the 2008 Stanley Cup playoffs on BD. That'd be sweet!

If NFL is smart enought, they could make tons of money if they release just superbowl into the blu, or NBA make a celtic dynasty blu-ray.

Yes, they should have. Got my dad the Road to Superbowl 42 for Father's Day. Did not get a copy for me 'cause it was only on DVD

+1

I'm sure we'll start seeing these next year though, as I'm expecting the 2008holiday season to be the turning point for Blu-ray adoption by the general public.

generally these have lower replay value, and don't sell all that well.... so they'll need to pick titles carefully. (plus they generally don't have top dollar MSRPs, so the incentive is lower)

I'd have to agree, plus it would most only be bought by the fans of the teams that played in the SB, Finals etc and that's not enough.

Wasn't it said at one time that the NFL was considering releasing the 2008 Superbowl out on HD DVD or Blu-Ray?

disagree with that, the superbowl and nba final this year will attract many not fan of those team, since it was both very good event especially the super bown, while the nba final will be in many hardcore celtic fan collection.

I don't think it's because they have lower replay value, it's just more regional. I doubt you'll see any Patriots fans picking up a blu ray of this year's Super Bowl. I'm not sure the thing would sell really well in, say, New Mexico. In New York and New Jersey? I'll bet sales went through the roof on it.

I play my New York Rangers DVD boxed set and Yankees boxed sets a lot. I doubt someone in Washington state is going to be gung ho on buying any of those.

even if it was hd-dvd the plan got backfired when hd-dvd died out but i think it was blu but we probably wont see any kind of sport on blu until like probably later this year or early next year

Exactly.

I have no interest in any sports releases unless my teams are featured.
