Ah, so the picture quality is pretty much the same...I'll keep my HD DVD's. The DD+ track is pretty good so I'd rather buy some movies I don't have then double dip.

I don't own any hd-dvd movies or hd-dvd players, i don't care at all about PQ just as long as i have the movie on blu-ray cause of the audio because that is where the true movie is at if the audio is 5 stars then i'll get the movie(s) on blu-ray cause

BLU-RAY ROCKZ and nothing is gonna stop blu-ray cause

BLU-RAY IS THE FUTURE OF MOVIES & THE MOVIE INDUSTRY

MOVIE DOWNLOADS WILL FAIL CAUSE OF NO AUDIO SELECTIONS OR VIEWING TYPES OR SPECIAL FEATURES YOU GET WHAT YOU DOWNLOAD & THAT IS A MOVIE WITH NO TRUE MEANING TO QUALITY. SO IF YOU PURCHASE A BLU-RAY PLAYER, or PS3, AND OF COURSE A HIGH DEF SURROUND SOUND SET UP & AN HDTV WITH FULL 1080P PICTURE QUALITY & BLU-RAY MOVIES & TOO TOP IT ALL OFF GET YOU A CASE OF BEER AND ENJOY TRU HIGH DEF IN YOUR VERY OWN HIGH DEF THEATRE IN YOUR OWN LIVING ROOM & RELAX AND LET THE TRU MOVIE TAKE YOU ON YOUR OWN VERY OWN TRIP TO FANTASY ISLAND.

Probably because Universal doesn't list any region coding on the box. Since Universal supported HD DVD, region coding apparently isn't important to them. They may not be using it with BD either. Regardless, my understanding of BD spec is that region coding can't be used for catalog films like The Mummy. It was only implemented on BD for new films and there is only an option for the first year after the films debut, so that the home video release in one country doesn't infringe on theatrical exhibition in other parts of the world where the film may still be playing.

Region coding can be used for any disc, all subsequent pressings USING THE SAME SKU must be region free after the first year. So they they repress a title on day 364, who knows how long it'll take to burn through those.

However a simple change in catalog number removes that requirement as well

I wonder if this movie will sound good on my non-hdmi surround sound. That's why I like Fox movies, the core dts on their still sounds awesome on my surround. I hope universal is the same way. I think I'll be picking the first 2 mummy movies. Dont know about the scorpion king. We'll see.

I've got this on VHS and on a DVD-R. Well worth the upgrade! I'm glad to see DTS made its way onto the release as well.

Why the hell is Curse Of The Golden Flower still supposedly coded for Region A?

I don't need to double dip because I only have this on VHS! I'm defiantly going to buy this and the sequel and the third when it comes out.

I have Mummy 1&2 on DVD and I will probably pick up the Blu-Ray of both. I thought Scorpion King sucked when I saw it in the theater so I have no desire to see that one again.
