Default Mummy Reactions/Reviews

Watched the Mummy Deluxe Edition for the second time in three days.
What a classic.

I watched the new Mummy Tomb of the Dragon at the theatre recently. No contest, no comparison at all. The original is superior in my opinion.

Best Audio I have heard on Blu Ray to date. Picture Quality (PQ) is awsome. Mummy is a very scary adventure.

If you like Indiana Jones Mummy is a must have.

I second that right there! For the first two Blu-ray releases from Universal, both The Mummy and The Mummy Returns definitely have above-average AQ and PQ! Even though Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was so-so, I liked it better than The Scorpion King, and I'll definitely add Tomb of the Dragon Emperor to the first two Mummy films since I'm such a completist.

I really enjoyed this movie when I originally saw it theatre, but watching this time around on bluray I really didn't enjoy it that much. Yeah it did have one heck of a PQ and SQ. Just wasn't that fun of a movie for me this time around.

I thought they were both excellent releases! The first one is by far the best but I was blown away by the sound and picture quality on both. Mostly the sound...it was a perfect movie to test my new speakers and receiver on

I think you just got older, cuz I felt the same way. PQ and AQ were great though.

The first Mummy is a classic you can watch again and again. The Mummy Returns does not have the same replay value.

This is what I posted when I watched the BD for the first time. (And I still feel the same way, even after seeing the 'Transformers' BD. 'The Mummy' is still my top demo disc for PQ.)

I can't remember the last time I kept saying "WOW" out loud while watching a BD. The PQ of this disc is simply extraordinary, and way beyond anything I've seen in recent months. The clarity, sharpness, detail, color intensity, depth, dimensionality--you name it--are just incredible. (And from a nearly 10-year-old film, at that.) At one point, during the first battle scene, I checked my BD player's bitrate meter and saw peaks as high as 48.77 mbps! Kudos to Universal for a great initial effort. Hope they keep it up!

I had a chance to rend the BD of THE MUMMY and previously owned it on HD DVD. What I can definitely say is that while both video presentations are very good, it seemed that the BD was a bit more colorful. The audio was a definite improvement over the HD DVD, particularily with Jerry Goldsmith's score.

The Mummy is classic popcorn flick. Characters, story, special effects...all good to go! 2nd was not as good but at least all the characters were back! 3rd...umm we won't go there lol.

Rachel Weisz is an angel on her worst day. SHe looks even better in Blu.

The detail on both the Mummy movies is staggering.

Blu-ray just made these movies better for me and I never watched them as much on DvD as I do now.

I don't. It's like Shaft compared to the abortion of The Mummy Returns.

When I watched the movie Mummy as a young boy I was terrified.
I must admit it is not quite as scary anymore. Nevertheless, Mummy was first released in 1932 and is a genuine classic.

Good to hear. I bought both The Mummy and The Mummy Returns a few days ago and I've yet to watch them.
