Blockbuster Doesnt Have The Ruins!!

I went to 5 blockbusters here on long island NY, and none of them had the ruins on bluray. two of the blockbusters said "It didnt come out yet" I had to argue with them to prove it came out.

WHy do they hire idiots at blockbuster who know nothing about film?

They usually get delivered to stores on release date. They may have had them in boxes, but not on the shelf yet. I don't know why they don't get these early like dvd releases.

They didn't have it? Good decision, they must be saving shelf space for a good movie.

Samething happened last week with Vantage Point, but I made them open the box that just got delivered and they were in there.

"The Ruins" on blu-ray is being sent to my house as we speak from Blockbuster Online. In fact, it should arrive today.

It's really weird that they don't have a universal lookup system. In fact, I'm pretty sure they do. I will say however that a lot of stores aren't as quick on getting new blu-rays in because there's not the market for it yet.

If you rent a lot and have a Blockbuster near you, try BB Online. For $19.99 you get unlimited rentals with 3 out at a time and 5 in-store exchanges. That means that when you bring a movie to the store you check it in and BB Online sends out the next movie in your queue. At the same time you can take home a rental from the store, due back in their normal time. I like doing that and using the free rental for my daughter's movies or for video games.

So far this month we're up to 9 movies once I receive the 3 in the mail today.

Well whenever I go to a blockbuster on a tuesday, I usually go around 12ish and all the new stuff is usually on the shelf. They open the stores at 10am so Im guessing all 5 blockbusters are slacking??

They usually reshelf everything on monday's, at least where I am, and they don't get these additional boxes until tuesday mornings.

When you get them from Blockbuster in the mail they just have a paper sleeve- no artwork.

They don't get blu-rays until release date? That sucks. I had a friend whose sister worked at blockbuster and she'd bring home dvds 1-2 weeks before their release dates.

My store I work at has been particularly bad about getting the new blu-rays in time.

I work at Blockbuster, and this problem has been going on for the past few weeks. We usually get all of our movies a week or two in advance, but with blu-rays they have been coming in late.

Usually still a couple days before the release, but last week Vantage Point came in on tuesday afternoon.....Drillbit Taylor and Bruce and Lloyd came in on Wednesday.

As an employee it is really frustrating, because once a movie comes out we have to wait 21 days until we can rent it for free.

I checked the report which says the movies that are coming....and as far as my store goes in todays shipment we should get:

Batman Gotham Knight
Batman Begins
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
The Scorpion King
Weeds Season 1 & 2
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest

The report also showed that The Ruins was ordered yesterday, so I wouldn't expect it in until Wednesday at the earliest...Friday at the latest.

The Bank Job and Shutter should be in on time next week, although i'm not sure about Step Up 2 or College Road Trip

yeah, they usually have them on the shelf by wednesday in my area.

Well we got everything we were supposed to except Mummy Returns and Cuckoos Nest only came for retail.

I dont know why they would send us Scorpion King rather than Mummy Returms

But for anybody who's interested in renting the MUmmy films early--take a peak at your local blockbuster, you might get lucky...I put out ours early

For whatever reason the Blockbuster near my house receives most of the new release BD's after tuesday. It is not a matter of the store not putting the movies out, or the employees renting them before they are released.
