Default Klipsch RF-82 vs. Polk RTi12 vs. Yahama NS-777? HELP!

I am probably going to buy an Onkyo 875 for my new Home Theater room (room is 14' wide x 23' long). The Onkyo claims 140 watts per channel @ 8 ohms, I believe.

I have to choose between the:

1. Klipsch RF-82s for $500 each shipped
2. PolkAudio RTi12s for $508 each shipped
3. Yamaha NS-777s for only $240 each shipped

My dilemma is based on price, plus the fact that I want to complete my 7.1 set up with speakers from the same manufacturer. The center channel speakers would be:

1. Klipsch RC-64 for $1000 shipped YIKES, but awesome speaker!
2. Polk CSi5
3. Yamaha NS-C444

I have listened to the Klipsch and the Polks, but I can't find a store that sells both of them, so I can't compare very easily. The speakers will be used in a dedicated HT room for movies, not music. I like bass, but not at the expense of clarity. I don't want bass for the sake of bass, especially since I will have a 10 or 12" dedicated sub.

Can ya'll give me some advice? Thanks!

Ya way to much power for your room 140 watts a channel in a 14 x 23 my room is 16 x 28 with 10 ft ceilings and I have the Klipsch 83s you should buy the Klipsch 62s with an 805 not an 875
PS. My speakers were to much power so I tried to get the 82s but kept mine I regret it because I could of save a lot of money do youreself a favor and look at the 805 and Klipsch RF-62S
140 watts a channel in a 14 x 23 Heres a link of what I would do if I heard you say that JK

Did you... did you try to rickroll him to an image file saved on your HD? Also, punctuation is your friend.

OP, if you've listened to these and like them all, at that point go with cost or aesthetics. I don't think they're "too much power for your room" since it's not like you're going to be blasting it away all the time anyway. Personally I really like Polks and Klipsch but I'll admit I'm nowhere near the audiophile other folks here are.

Go with what you like.

No such thing as "Too much power" there's a reason there is a volume control knob on the Receiver........

I could use more amplification, but I won't sacrafice my sound quality to buy an Onkyo, Sony, etc... so I got what I could afford at the time.

My ADVICE, is try to listen to a few more speakers in your price range, and also, don't think a bookshelf at the $500/ea price point, can't compete with $500 towers performance-wise.

Find a large enough audio shop, and spend a good deal of time there..... and you'll find what you're looking for... some decent stuff can be had for $1,000/pr.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll check into Boston Acoustics ( I like the 460s), and Monitor Audio (maybe too expensive). WHatever I buy will probably be from Craigslist or Amazon, depending on price.

I don't think I agree with the "too much power" argument, since I will have a volume knob, and would rather have too much than not enough. I also wanted the THX Ultra2 certification with the Onkyo TX-SR875, as well as the Burr Brown DAC.

I think the Yamaha NS-777s are beautiful, but I don't like the Yamaha Center Channel as much as I like the Klipsch and Polk Centers. Does anyone have the NS-C444 that can comment on it?

For that matter, does anyone have the RC-64? Is it as awesome as it looks?

I was actually looking into almost the exact same thing, the RF-82's and the RC-64 Center.

In the end I ended up going Monitor Audio. I cant even explain to you the increase in sound quality and how much easier they are to listen too.

The RS6 and RSLCR center together cost me 1760 inc taxes.

In a cost to performance ratio you just can't beat the sound quality you get in that price range.

Definitely worth at least demoing if you have a shop that carries them.
