Default DirecTv vs BluRay

I was wondering if anyone else who has DirecTv HD has watched a movie on an HD channel, lets say FX HD just for reference, the movie plays in 1080i but really looks BluRay PQ, the AQ is usually not as nice sounding then BD, but the only movie I've really tested this with is BatMan Begins, so I was wondering if anyone else has tryed to compare, what did you think, also don't say you think the BluRay is much better because of no commercials/popups, were just talking about the PQ and AQ of movies playing in HD on DirecTv vs the PQ and AQ of movies playing on your BluRay player.

NO contest - Blu-ray for the win.

Over twice the bandwidth and, currently, more effecient codecs and infinitely superior sound.

There isn't any comparison between the two.I have looked at some movies in HD and Blu-ray win hands down.

I have Directv HD and was watching Batman Begins on FX HD last night. First off, FX HD is broadcast in 720p, not 1080i. Not a big deal really though.

As far as D*HD versus BD, no comparison. PQ is much, much better. And D*HD cannot come close to AQ of BD (though I have not seen the Batman Begins BD yet).

Comparing apples to oranges my friend.

I have DTV and no contest Blu-ray looks better hands down. There is always the problem of having to transmit it to your box so it loses some of its picture quality. From player to tv will always win until they can find out a way to not take anything away from the broadcast. The audio is not even close with HD channels still using DD.
