Default dont know what the problem is

I am expericencing some static type noise during games. its not my speakers because it dosnt do it during music off the hard drive nor during movies. At first I thought it was just my orange box game that I just bought but I went to go buy grid I found that this game has the prob also. can the static noise damage my speakers? (Just to be clear its happening during gameplay, not talking about when the res is change through hdmi)

check connections..... that's all I can think of.... unless the reader is damaged, but if it doesn't do it during movies, I doubt that is the case..... check inputs/cables from PS3 to receiver.

360 or PS3? thats weird that its only happening in-game. that static wont hurt your speakers, ever run a speaker setup? its nothing but static, but its still annoying.
