Default Plasma Help!!!

Just got my 1st plasma yesterday, and read the burn in thread from feb. ,didnt help me alot. my worry is burn in. was playing the PS3 and leary because I dont know how long a still image can be on without permanent burn in. the pixel orbiter is on auto. its just that this is new to me and I want to take care of it! if this helps its the new panny model. I have some to learn about plasma. any help would be appreciated! Also what is the white scroll bar actually do?

I wouldn't worry too much about burn in...but if it would make you feel any better try this out:

Plasma Break-In DVD

its free.

Pretty sure burn in is a thing of the past, as long as you do not leave it on for long periods on one image.

What do you consider a long period?

Set pixel orbiter on Force 1, I never seen IR yet on my set even when playing PS3 for hours.

Yeah i heard the same that it was a thing of the past. And i never heard of
some one with a plasma t.v. at home having a burn in issue, but heard stories of places like airports and bus terminals and such having issues, well they have it on 24/7 so i could see that being a problem.
My bud has one with his plasma loves it with no issues like that,he had it for almost a year now.You should have no worries.

Force 1 means the orbiter runs every 1 min.

That break-in DVD is a great idea - it's free, you can download it in .iso or VIDEO_TS format.

It's in 16:9 format, so make sure it plays in that format and leave your TV on no more than 50% for brightness and contrast. It plays for 24 hours, so just play it through 4 times and then your plasma is golden.

You can read about it more on the site that cracked linked and on AVS.

Congrats on buying the premiere display technology!

I believe it helps remove IR (image retention) if you happen to get it.

Thanks and I would never leave a image on the screen for a long period anyway, so I should be OK. It was just that Ive had LCD, DLP, but never had a plasma!
