Default plasma tv

I think plasma tv's are the best for home theatre. I own a Panasonic 46" and I think I made the right choice. As for image retention, it only lasts a few minutes after watching another movie. I bought it a year ago.

I'm sure a few minutes of image retention (whatever that means) is a great feature to have

A lot of thinking going on. Did you break it in properly ? My older panny has some IR but I'm pretty sure it's from improper break in.

I might be mistaking image retention for something else. I don't know what image retention really looks like. I'm just assuming that's what I see. BTW they ( at the store ) never said anything about break in. Anyway the screen has to be really dark with the lights off to see it. Now when I watch a movie 2.4:1, I zoom from time to time or I use the scrolling bar.
