How Would The World Of Gaming Be Now If....................

This is sort of a three question thread. just asking for opinions(dont want to start a flame war).

First what do you think gaming would be like today if Nintendo did end up using the Sony disc add-on for the SNES and the did devolop a partnership. Would we have had a PS1? would we have a PS3 now? What impact do you think it would have made?

Second, assume all events with Nintendo and Sony happened as they did, what if Sony had indeed decided to use Microsoft's operating system for the PS2. Would there have been an Xbox? would there be a 360 now? Would Halo 1 & 2 have been on the PS2 and would we have been playing Halo 3 and Gears of War on our PS3s right now?

lotta ?s i know. last one i promise. Now what do you think the world of gaming would have been like if both, questions 1 and 2, would have somehow actually happened. Nintendo used disc add-on, but Sony still made Playstation2 and then used M$'s operating system. would it be Sony and M$ Vs. Nintendo? or would they all be good close buddies?

we would have a super Sontendo instead of a super nintendo

we would have some sort of weird contraption that was messed up by a slow operating system and i'm assuming would look like a shoe.

yeah its online. i cant remember how many players though. i havent played it online yet. scared of getting pwned

is it the new one?? i've always liked games like this. i used to play CC Red Alert 2 all the time on the PC. and yuris revenge the expansion pack. also liked sim city but it always took too long and the people started *****ing at me and threw me out of office so i just destroyed cities with natural disasters.

not trying to hijack it just turns out that way. they should have a secition just for talking. kinda like a chatroom. anything goes, no mods at all! that would be interesting. well ok mods just to keep the bad stuff out. but we can still talk. i think they should do that.

On your first question. I think a Nintendo machine using a disk would have killed Sony in the consol world (why would they build one if they are already partnered to build one with Nintendo) and the game industry would have been hugely stunted by the kiddy Nintendo titles.

Second, There would still have been an Xbox, because the change was not to put their own software into the industry, it was a company choosing to move from software to hardware to see if they could do it. There would be a Sony PS2 with a MS OS and then there would be an Xbox with a MS OS.

Third, If Sony and Nintendo DID work out as intended, XBox would have come in and been KING BY FAR of the consol world. Think about it, a crappy out dated PS1 type system with 90% of titles made by Nintendo for the under 18 group VS Xbox with 3rd party, M$ Money, and Mature titles (Same reason PS1 and PS2 dominated against Nintendo)...
