Wait a year or two for OLED to become mainstream.
It surpasses both Plasma and LCD. My only other recommendation, Bigger is Better, specially for gaming. |

if you can afford the ultimate HDTV (pioneer kuro) go for it. else samsung lcd/plasmas, sony lcd, panasonic plasmas. i've played ps3 on my parents panasonic 50pz85u plasma and my samsung 46A650 lcd and personally i prefer the lcd for gaming. |

Been reading up on these. Maybe it's me but I'm just not seeing the upswing on this technology to justify the large price tag. Viewing angles are still horrible compared to plasmas. Black levels are about the same as the better plasmas on the market. Contrast is good but the better Panny & Pioneer plasmas are just as good. The only features I've read that they say are superior are 1.) colors are slightly better than current high end plasmas & LCD's and 2.) laser sets use less energy.
To me these are hardly compelling reasons to justify a 6000.00 price tag. Plus, why only offer 65" and 72" sets? It seems to me they'd sell way more sets in the 50"- 60" range. |

If you are going to be in an absolutely completely dark room 100% of the time that the television is in use (gaming or watching movies) then Plasma is the way to go.
If you are going to be using it in a room where there might be plenty of light variation (powered light sources or outside light through curtains/windows/etc) then you will want to get an LCD. |
