Default Help with setup

Newbie here, was wondering about the connectivity for Onkyo 606 with Sony BDP-S350 to Sony KDS-60A2020. Now, I have a Sony upconverter DVD player connected to my TV through HDMI cable and optical cable connecting my DVD Player to my old receiver. I will be getting my new blu-ray player and receiver this Tuesday. I need to find out how to connect my receiver so I can get the DTS tru digital audio. From my understanding, you need HDMI to get the digital audio, so the optical cable won't work? Plus the Sony bdp-s350 has only one HDMI outlet.
I have been collecting blu-ray dvds since Warner Bros. sided with blu. I have 42 bd dvds which I can finally now watch after Tuesday!!

Optical lacks the bandwidth for 5.1 lpcm. Does yoour 606 or 350 support 1.3?

Set the BDP-S350 to bitstream for audio over HDMI.

BDP-S350 > HDMI > Onkyo 606 > HDMI > TV

Will I still get a 1080 picture if the 350 is connected to the receiver and not connected directly to the TV?

yep. the receiver simply sends the signal on to the tv. Whatever resolution comes in, will be the one that goes out (so long as its HDMI in, and HDMI out)

If everything takes HDMI, then that cable will transmit audio and video. You'll be all set.

DO NOT go out and buy Monster! All you need are inexpensive HDMI cables, and you should get them from Monoprice. I understand you want to get things connected this week and don't want to wait for cables to be shipped. If you can't find inexpensive cables locally, then just purchase a set from some place with a good return policy. Order cables from Monoprice and return the others once the Monoprice cables arrive.

Thanks for the advice! I think it is absurd how much Monster cables are anyhow.
