Thumbs up Blue Underground BDs coming soon! (Update: Nine titles announced!)

http://www.blue-underground.com/blu-ray.php

They have a serious esoteric catalog and I can't wait to get my hands on some of these on Blu!

Flashforward to 30 years from now and all of your CURRENT 2000-2008 favorite movies will be "old ass movies". Please have some perspective.

I thought it was crap but the cinematography and art design was very good. A heady trip of colors!

looking at their catalog it looks like those are the type of DVD's that are in the $1 bin at Walmart, but they list them around $15. I did not see any title I would buy on their site

That would be me. They also have some great westerns. Django on Blu would be very sweet.

Bring on the Larry Cohen collection! Any horror fan knows that having Blue Underground start releasing titles in Blu-Ray is great news. Their catalog of films is very strange and diverse, but to say something is "not worthy of Blu" is so narrow-minded I can't comprehend it. Shouldn't everyone rejoice in every film being released in Blu-Ray now that the war is over?

Now... for Criterion!!!

I would gladly double-dip for their Argento flicks, especially Suspiria.

This is awesome news. Blu-ray is not complete without offerings from companies such as Anchor Bay and Blue Underground.

Gimme some Argento/Fulci/Giallo/Hammer/Amicus movies!

I agree. Europe never did get it's due, though that song is a classic!

Well, they have one bonafide big title: The Final Countdown. I'm surprised. An UA film that slipped through the cracks?

Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, James Farentino and Charles Durning.

6.6/10 on IMDB (not too bad).

And slipped into a BIG one, namely the mysterious and sinister "Pacific Entertainment"--aka "A name-only bootleg house that was convinced it wasn't"--which snapped up three "cult" films that weren't nailed down, and released them (if you could find their website, and we do mean if) with less VHS-to-DVD-R quality than your real bootlegger would've taken the time to deliver...

After legal wrangling, and the idealistic efforts of BU to rescue "Countdown", two of the hostages were freed and (along with "Monster Squad") found safe foster homes with real studios--
But the fate of "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park" is still unknown.
