My Summer 2008 Movie Review Thread (No Spoilers)

Iron Man- 4.5 out of 5 Stars- This Comic Book based movie is what comic book fans have been waiting for since the trend has taken off. There is nothing negative to say about this movie.

Chronicles of Narnia: Price Caspian- 2.5 out of 5 Stars- This movie had a little bit more action than the first, but the youngest sisters acting is as bad as is gets. Her acting turned me off of alot of potentially good scenes.

Speed Racer - 1 out of 5 Stars - This movie was a visually good movie, but the acting was awful, and so was the storyline. I wasnt a big fan of the Cartoon, but since it was a Summer blockbuster, I felt I would give it a chance.

Indiana Jones 4 - 3.5 out of 5 Stars - I felt this movie could have been better, but was still great. It was definetly worthy of being called an Indiana Jones movie.

Kung Fu Panda- 4 out of 5 Stars- Yes you read it right, 4 out of 5. If not for Wall E, this is easily the best animated movie of the year. The amazing animation of Dreamworks mixed in with tastefully done silly adult and kid friendly jokes this makes for a very good movie.

Incredible Hulk- 3.5 out of 5 Stars - This movie was such an improvement over Ang Lee's version. I felt like I wanted more when the movie was done. Edward Norton makes a very good Hulk, and I hope he returns as the Hulk in the Avengers movie.

The Happening- 2 out of 5 Stars- If Speed Racer wasnt so bad, I would rate this as a 1. I was very disappointed because I am a huge fan of Marky Mark Wahlberg. The first Trailer was very intriguing, but just went downhill from there

Wanted- 3.5 out of 5 Stars- Though I missed the first 15 minutes I still got a sense of what happened. It seems like a movie that would get you lost quick, but surprisingly it wasnt one of those movies you really have to think about. And for everyone wondering, this is nothing like the Matrix.

Wall-E- 5 out of 5- I have been reviewing movies for the past 5 years, and this is the first movie I have given a perfect rating. This although still doesnt top my favorite Pixar movie which is held by Toy Story. The dialogue is said to be the weakest trait of this movie, but this movie isnt meant for great dialogue. Trust me, this may very well be the best movie of 2008.

The Dark Knight- 4.5 out of 5 stars- Just back from the advanced screening. I felt this may have been better than Iron Man, but it will take another viewing when it is released in Imax. I wish I could give you spoilers because the ending literally left me with my mouth wide open. It was a twist I never expected. If I could change my vote on the "Will it make 100M opening weekend" I would have to put it down as the probably will catagory but may not. This movie has the potential to be the movie of 2008. I realize I bashed it earlier due to it being only for a certain demographic, which I was right about, but this movie was better than I thought, but still think its far from best movie of all times. If you plan on bringing children under 12, I would advise you to be prepared for nightmares from him or her because this is 100x more sadistic than I originally thought. Unfortunetly I couldnt give this 5 stars, and if I had seen this before Wall-E I probably would, but Wall-E is the only movie I felt was perfect, although flaws were at the total minimum in this movie. If you havent already, get the midnight tickets for this movie, you will NOT be disappointed

Hancock- 4 out of 5 stars - $150 Million bust you say? I say, go see it again. Whoever said that may be the worst reviewer ever. I just got back from seeing this movie, and it kicked ass all over the place. The storyline was great. I have seen EVERY trailer for this movie, and there is nothing spoiled from the movie from the spoiler. Unlike Dark Knight, which got a 4.5 from me, this movie is full of surprises I didnt even remotely see in the previews. And who said no kids should see this movie? I have seen worse from the alot of movies geared to everyone. Just go see it, trust me

Hellboy II- 5 out of 5 stars- This movie was excellent. GDT has done it again. it was an adventure from start to finish, with a few quick wits thrown in. I thought the monsters were done very well. Ive heard some people that havent liked it, but if your going to nit pick instead of watching the movie, dont see TDK because there is alot to nit pick in TDK, but if you just enjoy the movie it blends in nicely. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Journey to the Center of the Earth - 3.5 out of 5 stars - Very good family movie. I mean, very unbelievable but that doesnt make it bad because most movies are unbelievable. But if you choose to see this movie, see it in 3D, its a treat. Plus there is a clue that there will be a sequel.

Step Brothers - 3 out of 5 stars - Yeah it was funny, but as a "movie" it was God awful. There was no point and they cut out the best line in the movie. I gave it 3 stars because if you want laughs, then its good to go see. But as far as Will Ferrels best movie goes? It wasnt in his top 3
