Sin City December 16th? - Blu-ray Forum

Dont get excited. This is all hear say. My sister used to go to Full Sail school of film in Florida (for anybody reading the Pirates 4 thread, this is a different sister), and now works for a film company. She wants to become a director in a few years. But she heard a rumor that Miller wants to have a release of the DVD with a bunch of extras along with a Blu ray right before The Spirit comes to theaters. Kind of like Batman Begins coming before TDK. I would assume that it would come with a movie ticket as well but of course nothing is near official, again this is just all hear say. But what better way promoting The Spirit which comes out Christmas Day with the DVD re release and Blu ray of Sin City?

Sounds good to me.

Hopefully when it is released, it will be the extended cut.

I know, I know... not gonna happen.

Does Frank Miller have an extended cut for this movie? Ive never seen it, but I know alot of people love this movie so I posted it. But I know it will bite me in the ass if its either false, or delayed.

Yes the extended cut basically adds the panels of certain stories they cut out to tighten up the movie. I have seen the extended cut and the deleted stuff was whatever. They were right to cut it the stuff didn't really add anything to the story its just more stuff. It would be nice if they offered it via seamless branching though.

Seemless branching is like I am Legend when you could choose either version?

Yeah they did it with Spider-Man 2 as well where you could watch the 2.1 version.

Yeah that's cool. Just saying IMO the extended cut didn't make the movie any better but it is cool to have the rest of the comic come to life for the fans.

Well the picture from back in 2007 doesnt say extended cut on it so IDK

I do seem to remember about Christmas time last year that someone here at this board claimed to have inside info and pretty much promised that we'd all be watching Sin City on blu-ray by Christmas Day 2008. This would corroborate that.

Well it would just make sense with Frank Millers new movie coming out.

I hope this is true, Sin City is one of my favourite movies ever and I'm, at the moment, literally drooling over its release. Never got the difference between the original and extended version: I could only notice one extra scene, the scene where he pushes that mans head into the toilet after he just...went.

I hope it is true, since it is a fanstastic movie. It will be a big seller in the holiday season.

Now if only they would stop screwing around and start making the next two in the series. The creators constantly have something else going on and have been pushing the sequel back farther and farther.
