Walk the Line is coming out in Germany/Austria on November 21.

It will be a Two Disc Set with lots of Extras:

It's already out in Scandinavia and Holland.

Scandinavian and Dutch release are said to be region A compatible.

I share your impatience as I have a US BD player (and Fox BDs are region-locked). Generally, among the various countries releasing BDs, there has been more divergence than I had expected regarding the choice of titles. Several recent films have appeared on BD in certain European countries but not yet in the US, and conversely, several films available on BD in the US have not yet appeared on BD in any part of Europe. I'm sure there will be a catching up process during 2009 with regard to recent major studio films. I would be very surprised (and disappointed) if 'Walk The Line' is not out on BD in America within the next six months.

No such thing as PAL with HD. May apply to extras, though.
