Default European release? The Curse Of The Golden Flower

Having finally seen THE CURSE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER and totally flipping for it, is there any news of this getting a release in Europe (UK)?
Both this and CASTAWAY are titles that really make me curse the region coding issue. If they must do that then fine but at least bring the films out eventually, in other regions. Why older catalogue titles like CASTAWAY have to be region coded seems really stupid though.

Your not the only one. I bought the US edition thinking it would be region free. Unfortunately its not. I think it maybe available through amazon.fr

watched it in Indonesia in its original language (chinese). very good, but I can't find it in UK. Plan to import it/buy it from Indonesia or USA (both region A). I'll check the price first in Indonesia to see if it's cheaper.

There will be no Cast Away in Europe soon. It's a Dreamworks/Parabribe title over here.

Yup. The French BD is region ALL. I can guarantee it because I have this disc and I own a Region A player.

http://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/f150266_la_...-ray_disc.html

A word of caution for non French-speaking readers. This disc only comes with French and Mandarin audio tracks and French subs. No English subs are available, unfortunately.

Didn't see an English option for navigating the sites (there might be one) but here's the links for Man cheng jin dai huang jin jia/Curse Of The Golden Flower/La Maldición de la Flor Dorada.

Description in zonadvd (BD has original language audio in PCM and DolbyDigital 5.1, plus Spanish and Catalan audio in DolbyDigital 5.1, has subtitles in English, Hindi, and Spanish) :

Just got around to watching the Spanish release and it's great. It also has multilanguage menus so if your player is properly setup you'll get the menus in English. And English subtitles, of course.

And the PQ was phenomenal.

Now the movie itself, that's another story...

So if anyone in Europe still hasn't found his region B golden flower, just drop me a line...

I went with the Spanish version and as much as it was expensive, it was worth every damn penny. An exquisite viewing experience, the transfer was gorgeous.

It pops up on ebay now and again.

The problem of coarse, is that Spanish retailers refuse to use the crap Spanish post service and only courier firms.

I actually ended up getting the Spanish Edition on ebay. The seller posted for free but he was charging €24 for the blu-ray. Very frustrating having to pay that price for it when it's only $11 on amazon.com but it was the way of getting it.
