PS3- No sound - Blu-ray Forum

I have a 80 gig ps3. It is running through a Onkyo 875 and then into a sony bravia. It worked fine when I watched a movie on friday.
Yesterday my wife watched a movie. Today she put in a movie and their is no sound. Nothing that I know of was changed, but I don't know that my wife maybe changed something on accident. Their is sound from tv coming out of a motorola dvr cable box. But the ps3 is not outputting and sound. Any idea's ?

I had the same trouble and ended up having to send it away for repairs.

I got home and checked all settings on the 875 and the ps3 all was fine. I unplugged the cable from my 360 and plugged it into my ps3 'voila sound. Must be a bad hdmi cable. I was under the assumption that digital is digital and they either work or they don't

Oh well I will go buy a new hdmi tomorrow.

why are you playing the sound through the tv... if your using the HDMI cable as Video and Audio.. why not just buy an optical cable to hook it up to the Onkyo 875

Order your new HDMI cable from monoprice.com. Will cost you about $6 with shipping for a 6 ft 1.3a cable. They work great. I'm currently using 2 of these in my system.
