Default EA+Epic Games = All New IP for PS3

This isn't old news is it? if it is, my bad. anyway, looks like EA is teaming up with Epic Games(Gears Of War) to bring a new Exclusive app(not yet confirmed, but it only mentioned PS3) to the PS3. I hate EA personally, so it will take some work to sway me again. they better not mess it up!!

Electronic Arts has made it very clear they wish to focus on quality software and regain the trust of many next-gen gamers. The best way to do this? Team up with proven development studios, of course.

According to Ripten, EA has just signed a deal to publish "an all-new IP" from Epic Games' People Can Fly Studio. They're responsible for the likes of Painkiller and the Gears of War PC port, so there's no question People Can Fly could produce a big winner for EA. Frank Gibeau, president of the EA Games label, says they are "very proud to have Epic join the growing roster of EA partners," and Epic VP Mark Rein had this to say-

"Epic is excited to work with EA Partners to launch our next big IP on the global stage. EA Partners gives independent developers like Epic the muscle of a global publisher like EA, along with the focus and flexibility of a smaller team committed to working with our individual needs."

Bad news tends to stick in gamers' minds, which is why EA has been forced to struggle to get back on their good side, especially where PlayStation 3 owners are concerned. But thus far in 2008, we've seen EA become more and more committed to the words they issue to the press, so hopefully, future results will be good. We'll keep an eye on whatever this new project is, and when either EA or Epic decides to unveil it, we'll be all over it.

Unfortunately the press release only mentions (If I read correctly) the teaming of Epic and EA, no word about an Exclusive IP for the PS3.
PSXExtreme notes that EA has been trying to regain the favors of PS3 owners though, and they hope for a good PS3 version at least equal I guess to a possible 360 version.
