Don't get that sub, Polk makes pretty good speakers, but they leave a little to be desired with the sub.
I would also not get four of the monitor 70's. You just don't need full range speakers for surrounds, there is rarely, and I mean very rarely ever any source material that requires surround speakers that large. I would save money there and put it towards some better front speakers. Say, something from the RTi or A series. I dig the receiver though ![]() |

You seem to have a pretty extensive Blu-ray collection...... I'd piece together speakers, etc.... and extend the budget.... you'll be happier 5 years down the road, than right now.....
if you want to keep what you've selected, I agree with pretty much everyone though, that a different sub would be preferred. |

General consensus is that the Rti series sounds better then the Monitor series. I never listened to the Monitor 70's, but the Rti8's were much nicer then the Monitor 60's IMO.
But don't take anyone's word for it, listen to the Monitor 70's, and compare them with some from the RTi series (RTi A5 or RTi A7 probably). As someone above said, buy some smaller surrounds and use the money you save there yo upgrade your fronts or the center. That's all imo of course. If you stick with that though, you're going to be a happy man I'm sure! |

If you go with 16:9 (which I did) is the standard for HD TV/Blu-ray etc... You'll have to mask for images that are 2.35:1 (which is somewhat smaller) but 16:9 is standard for HD, so pretty much everyone goes with this aspect ration.... only older movies use 4:3, so I'd stay away from it because most standard Def. DVDs are 16:9 too..... ![]() I made my 16:9 screen, it's 110" diagonally... so it worked out to 54" tall, and 96" wide. Use this link for all your screen design/placement ideas..... http://www.projectorcentral.com/Sony...ulator-pro.htm Last edited by Beta Man; 08-14-2008 at 06:26 PM. |

I have a Klipsch sub myself and I'll swear by it. I personally havent heard the eternal designs sub, but my Klipsch provides great bass and response. 10" Downfiring here.

I've got a room your size; my setup includes
Polk monitor 50's for fronts CS2 for center two 6750 satellites as well as the woofer that comes with that pkg. I am really happy with this package and get so much sound to easily fill the room. I did a lot of research and listening and decided that the 50's were fine, and I went with the CS2 because I didn't want to lowball the center. If you're really looking to spend money check out the next series up and go smaller on your surrounds like everyone else said. |
