Default 26" too small?

I'm about to buy a 26" samsung 450 720p tv for my room. This is not for a living room or anything, literally just my room, which is pretty small. I am looking at pics of other peoples setups and am coveting their 37" 1080ps. Does anyone thing a 26" is too small for a HDTV?

Depends upon how far away you are anything more than 5 feet and you will want to go bigger.

At 720p, it is not too small. If you are looking at it close enough, any size is fine, it all depends on the distance ratio. there are several graphs and programs online you can use for free that will show you the size to distance ratio.

It depends on how much you are spending for a tv that size. The prices for those sizes can be tricky.

if your room is "small", 26" is plenty.

I used to have a 26" in my "small" living room (a 1 BR apartment). .and it was big enough.. you can get a nice 26" 720P for $500 or less.

If you can pay just a couple hundreds more, you will NOT regret a 32".

Sony 32L4000 is great. I have this in my bedroom now (a mid-size room), and its only $699!!

I ordered the Samsung LN26A450 26" 720p for a total of $499.00 including S&H, and a 14 day return period. Depending how this is in my room, I'll try your advice and get a 32inch, or even might say f*** it and get a 37" 1080p.

Why not look at 32" sets if you're on the fence between 26" and 37"

Did you mean to say 2.6" and not 26"?, most partners would consider that too big unless they are very large, or enjoy lots of pain!

also you might look at some 26" computer moniters that support 1080p there is one on newegg that has component, vga, and a couple of hdmis and a dvi for like 500 or 600 bucks and if you sit close to it you will see a difference with 1080p
