Default Do you leave your PS3 in standby mode?

I got a PS3 in November and it broke in February. On that one, I left it in standby mode (with the red indicator on) when I wasn't using it.

I was able to get a replacement, and I've turned the system completely off after every time I've used it, but it's a pain to get behind my other equipment to turn it off. Do you guys leave yours in standby mode or turn the console completely off?

Yeah, no kidding. I'm actually pretty surprised some turn it off but I can be pretty lazy as well when it comes to stuff like that.

I have one of the original ps2's, and its been on standby non stop for about.... what 9 or 10 years? and have never had a single problem with it.

on the other hand, 3 friends i met within the past year turn everything off completely, each has been through at least one ps2.

from my experience, standby for the win. I doubt that little red light uses alot of energy.

my ps3 stays on stand by 24/7

I leave mine off just like i did with ps2 wich still works. Id think only way you'd short it is if your sockets faulty or something.

I leave mine on, folding@home, since july 07.

I think the OP is having a case of post hoc ergo propter hoc.

Standby.

Side note: The PS3 has the lowest electricity usage of all the consoles when put on standby.

I leave it on standby, it really uses very little power in standby mode.

Even if it used more power, I'd probably still leave it in standby since it's a lot easier to put it in standby with the controller than it is to get up and turn the damn thing off
