PS3 Audio Question - Blu-ray Forum

Hi all. Just got my Sony 720 receiver and have everything setup... I am trying to watch Nightmare Before Christmas in HD surround. I have my PS3 set to output as Linear PCM. When i play the Blu, however, it is only showing as Dolby Digital 5.1 output at 48kHz... shouldn't it say Dolby Tru HD? Trying to get my lossless audio... help!

What is showing only Dolby Digital? Your PS3 when you hit the select button or your receiver? Please keep in mind that your PS3 is the one decoding so it may not show up on your receiver as such, but it will be produced that way. So the indicator to look at is the select button that displays the current audio.

I bet it was just that he didn't select it in setup...

forgot to uncheck 7.1 and go to only 5.1 in PS3 audio settings. after i unchecked 7.1, it showed up fine when i hit select as Dolby TrueHD... and sounds FANTASTIC. I have fallen in love with lossless audio!
