Default US guy moved to the UK...need HD help...

All,

I'm a US resident who just moved to UK for a couple of years. Brought along my US Sony HDTV (still in the process of coming over) and want an HD set-up.

Took up Sky on recent offer and got Sky+HD box for 75 quid...but wondering what (if anything) I'll have to buy to make this work. Sky+HD box has HDMI output...and I've read online differing ideas on this one. Some say HDMI (being digital) doesn't conform to PAL/NTSC analog standards - so I can just hook it up.

Other sites say I'll need a converter box such as:

Atlona Pal HDMI to NTSC HDMI Converter 1080p ($250)
GEFEN HOME THEATER VIDEO SCALER CONVERTER 1080P HOMETSP ($500)

To complicate matters, I've got the old DVI hook up on my TV (Sony Grand Wega), so I'll be splitting off audio as well.

Anybody with first hand experience in this type of matter? Thanks.
