Hey everyone, I just moved here from sunny Southern, CA. Does anyone know of any good electronics stores in the area? I have been here for two days now and can't find anything but Best Buy

Nebraska Furniture Mart. MASSIVE store. You can negotiate awesome deals on electronics. Blu-ray movies are overpriced, though (or at least they used to be).

Open one up. If you know you're stuff, you can offer everything that's need to create outstanding systems. Offer them at great prices (cannot be internet good). You could single handlely make Omaha the Home Theater capital of the world.

NFM is the way to go. There used to be a Circuit City across the street from it. They used to give you the NFM price pluse an additional 10% off. It was awesome, but it closed because NFM took all of their business.

I grew up there and go back for the holidays. Nebraska Furniture Mart is a juggernaut but Best Buy is competitive. I think there is one speciality high end audio store but I don't remember their name. If you are really picky drive to Kansas City, it's only 3 hours away.

Go to the Old Market for fun. The French Cafe has been there for at least 25 years.

I can answer that, he wanted to get away from the San Andreas Fault, Crack, Homeless people, hollywood, gangs, trash, smog, fires, breast implants, botox, metrosexuals, calf implants, and earthquakes.
Why wouldn't you want to move from California?

The Sound Environment has some high end stuff, otherwise Custom Electronics or NFM.

If you are going to Lincoln, DTX has some nicer stuff, and Schaefer's has a lot of your main line consumer stuff.

Welcome to Nebraska!

I have lived in lincoln nebraska for 29 years of my 29 year life and all of those places mentioned are good. In omaha NFM or custom electronics.
In lincoln DTX, the sound environment, and my personal favorite schaeffers tv.
I was a tv repair man for a year and we fixed all of custom electronics, sound environment and schaeaffers stuff. Im biased but i really think schaeffers had some of the best customer service and care after the product was purchased.

PS im a horrible speller so i dont remember if i spelled schaeffers right.

Thanks guys, that is some great stuff. Now i just need to find them. For those who asked I moved out here to go to Dental School at Creighton University. For those who have read my posts I love high end audio. Video is obviously great, but video is nothing without good audio. I just though about opening up a store if dental school doesnt work out. Thanks for the great posts everyone.

NFM is pretty decent.

For the guy that says that there's nothing to do. Are you kidding me??? Omaha has as much to offer as anywhere else. You can't go to the beach and that's about it. You can however watch the Huskers dominate and watch college baseball at its best. Give me a break!

Also, I would get away from Cali too. After all, it's the land of the fruits and nuts...

Oh, good choice in going to dental school, but Creighton aka Craydon ? You could have made a better choice IMHO.

The thing that always makes me laugh from Craydon grads is that they always say, "It was great because we didn't have any specialists so we got to do it." If you haven't heard that one you will.

Sorry, just had to get a little Craydon bashing in. In all honesty it's probably a decent school. Study hard and good luck!
