Laptop won't play Street Kings - Blu-ray Forum

I have a hp DV7t with blu-ray player. It has played all blu-ray disks until i Just got Street Kings. I get a message stateing I need to download new firmware but I can't find any new updates? The message also tells me to go to foxbd.com/cs for help. Can't find anything there that would apply to my computer. All my drives and software appear to be up to date.

Anyone have any sugjestions? Thanks

I just bought a HP pavillion DV5 1034 CA notebook a few days ago and rented Street Kings to test out it's blu ray and have been trying to get the damn thing to work for three hours. I updated quickplay, tried searching for new firmware/driver updates for the blu ray drive, updated my videocard driver, ect!! I am going to bring the movie back tomorrow and try a different one and see if that's the issue.

I have had that happen with several laptops I tried out. I tried out the Dell XPS 1530 and the HP dv5t and both would not play close encounters. The new SONY FW series with the 16.4 in screen did play it. I took it to a Best Buy and tried it out before deciding to get this one.

There must be some kind of bug inherent to the encoding of that particular movie

I'm having the same problem with TotalMedia Theater. The previews and menus work fine. Even the FBI warnings just before the movie are fine, but the movie just freezes the entire time it is on. The audio seems to be fine though.

I'm running the latest version of TMT (.121) with the latest Catalyst Drivers (8.8).

I bet it'd work if I had anydvd.
