Batman WON'T Begin! with BDP-S300 <- update to latest firmware - Blu-ray Forum

My Batman Begins blu-ray won't play on my Sony BDP S300. I already exchanged the disc - it loads for a few minutes, then shuts off the player, then starts it up again. I'm running the 3.70 update, so I just ordered the 3.95 update disc through Sony, but I heard this update was for computers with blu-ray players. (I also couldn't play "Relentless Enemies or "Oceans 13"). Any advice out there?

You can't just download the update and burn it yourself?

It's probably choking on the 1.1 features, the firmware should fix that

the way to take of your problem is, throw your BD player away and buy a PS3

I have to agree update your player to the latest firmware and it should fix your issue.

I bought it and I have the 300 and i have never did a firmware update, im not having a problem

Had the same problem with Spiderwick Chronicles. It finally loaded and then kept skipping ahead. I have a PS3 for my blu-ray player and that is the first disk I have had problems with. My updates are all caught up as well.

Unreal how in the heck is an average consumer going to keep up
with all these firmware updates, they are a pain and could trash your player.

Look at all those warnings,on the sony firmware page, scary

Wow does that say 51.88 megs, is that an OS or a firmware update.

The 3.9 update will work. This happened to me and others with V FOR VENDETTA and the upgrade fixed the problem.

I will say that the firmware/update situation is the reason I'm sticking with my
ps3 as my primary blu ray player and not buying a stand alone player...
