Default why am i not suprised anymore?

I have seen some movies on bluray but since i changed my tv of room my eyes can't get the spectacular image of these movies. My tv is next to the windows so the light of the sun is almost everyday on it. I sit 10 feet far from my tv. What is the reason i can't be surprised of the image then?

Yes, it is a HDTV (720p) 32in

So you have a 32 inch tv that is only 720p, and you have sunlight glaring on the screen and are confused as to why it isnt amazing?

If the OP is serious, which I highly, highly doubt. I mean, who seriously lists the reasons they think affect the PQ and then asks what's wrong. But if you're serious, outside light, 720p, 32" and 10' away are pretty good reasons. You should be closer to a screen width and a half away.

That is my exact thought.

To really enjoy Blu Ray you should have a big screen and it should be 1080 not 720. I dont know if it is just my opininon but I think I am not alone with that.

For all you listing that 720P is apart of the problem, 720P is perfectly fine for HD, Unless your going for 50 inches and sitting close to the TV !

I only watch movies when it's dark outside like when it rains or just when it's nightfall but with my white curtains when the sun shines there is too much light to enjoy my screen even when curtains are drawn.

I wonder if people demo their TV's when they buy them anymore.

Fact is, if it looks worse than TV's in the store its likely settings or your source material. If its as good as whats in stores you probably just need to calibrate it slightly to get a very good pic.

Not to mention people expect a resolution setting to be the end all of everything. Is it the cheapest 32" TV you can buy?

I have a 720p projector which projects on to a 66" wide screen. It still blows away anything in standard DVD. 720p output is not the problem. I can't wait until I can afford a 1080p projector.

I only watch movies on my 52-inch Sharp Aquos at night. A dark room is best (and although it might be late at night, I still crank up the surround system. Some soundtracks rip holes in the drywall).

I hate glares and sunlight when I'm watching a movie, just screws up the entire movie experience for the viewer. That's why I like my 720P Insignia doesn't get glares! I'm getting a Samsung 1080P 32 inch soon. YES!
