Default Anyone notice a lack of news lately?

What gives with the lack of news lately? Have studios stopped announcing films?

Sites such as bluray.com, thedigitalbits.com, highdefdigest.com have not really reported anything remotely newsworthy in what seems like weeks.

Is it just me?

I know what you mean. I wish studios would announce movies further in advance, but that's just me being impatient.

We'll be getting more December announcements soon.

I have the same feeling with videogames, though I know in advance that the next one I will care to buy won't be out until the end of October.

I guess with all the excitement of the previous weeks, this week has been tooo slow.

Im really hoping Universal will finally announce the Bourne Trilogy, which according to an insider will be coming in Nov.

Cant wait!

Its the calm before the storm. There is so much coming out for me personally in the next few months.

Gladiator
Braveheart
Godfather
Matrix
Army of Darkness
Leon (DE)
Hero (FR)
WALL-E
Gremlins
Goonies
TDK
Sleeping Beauty

I'm sure I've missed a few as well, if you can't find something worth buying out of that lot something is wrong. Not to mention all those releases are between now and January.

yeah it does seem to have slowed up on the news and reviews front.. would be nice if there were some high profile announcments prior to year end.. i wonder if Fox have any catalogue titles up their sleeve like Alien?

Could be that most must think that politics is more important than Blu ray, I beg to differ.

You should start seeing some good reviews very soon for Iron Man and Godfather.

It was around this time last month (middle of the month) that we got all the official October announcements. The November announcements have started to trickle in slowly. I expect the rest of the November announcements to pour in over the next two weeks or so.

I am a blu ray news ADDICT ! I am always hitting refresh in the desperate hope that a new review or a tidbit of news comes my way. I think I need to go to a 12 step program to ween my self off this unstoppable habit of mine !

Yes, it does seem rather slow this September. I was hoping there would be a few more announcements for October and November by now.

September is a big release month. Personally I wouldn't advertise anything new with current stock to move. There is plenty to be excited about this month alone.

Worse, it feels like a bunch of releases have dropped off the map lately. Anchorman, Super Troopers and Hellraiser come to mind. And, of course, Ghostbusters just got pushed into next year.

Too much good stuff coming out this fall already, though -- the wallet could use the relief!

It's just information about the movie "Zombie Strippers." That's all.
