It hasn't even hit the arcades in Japan yet, so give it a while.

Actually it's a improved version of the arcade of Dark Resurrection that was ported to the PSP.

Also new PSN releases hit on Thursday so it's possible.

Tekken 5: DR alive and kicking on PS3
Namco Bandai fighting game arrives today on PlayStation Store alongside firmware update.
By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot
Posted Mar 1, 2007 10:38 am PT

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection missed the announced February release window for its PS3 debut, but it looks like the game won't have missed it by much. Sony Computer Entertainment announced that Dark Resurrection would be made available for download from the PlayStation store sometime today, with an asking price of $19.99.

Based on the arcade and PlayStation Portable editions that preceded it, Dark Resurrection for the PS3 includes a few new features of its own. Namco Bandai has said the game has been "optimized for the HD era" with 1080p visuals and the chance to take control of Jinpachi Mishima, the game's previously unplayable final boss.

Joining Dark Resurrection on the PS3's slate of downloadable offerings today is a behind-the-scenes look at MotorStorm, a trailer for the upcoming Nancy Drew film, and a new firmware update. PS3 owners can now download firmware version 1.54, which adds new features for video chatting.

I heard it was available this morning for 20 bucks.

I will be trying the download in just a couple of minutes...

edit: about an hour and a half after this original post (i didnt want to doublepost, so im editing)

Anyway, I did download it, and played a bit. SO far there is no online mode I think. Jinpachi is playable. It honestly looks a lot better in HD than I thought it would. I thought they were doing just a lazy port from the PSP, but it seems they did go through cleaning up a lot of jaggies. The game looks VERY crisp and smooth.

I couldnt be happier with my 20 dollar purchase.

Oh yeah, also, you dont unlock the end movies. You get points for playing, and then use the points to 'purchase' the movies. And they arent unlocked, but rather downloaded. So you can freely keep and/or delete to conserve hard drive space. kinda nice.

If you purchase Tekken and do a hard drive wipe later, can you redownload or do you have to pay again?

It's a very good value for your entertainment dollar and a very excellent game at that! I love the graphics and the game play itself!
