I can't decide between two plamsa I've been looking at. They are both Panasonics and here are the differences:
Panasonic TH-46PZ0U 46" Plasma $1499.99 1080p 20,000:1 contrast Panasonic TH-42PZ85U 42" Plasma $1349.99 1080p 30,000:1 contrast I can't decide...Will the higher contrast really make a difference? Which TV would you get? How much of a difference will I see from my 720p 32" LCD? Should I consider LCD? My price range is 1000-1500. |

absolutely go with the 1080p panny plasmas, huge difference over a 720p 32 inch LCD.
I personally would go with the cheaper one, its a little smaller, but i believe its the better quality TV. |

Your going to see a difference either way. I personally like the 85U the most out of all the plasma's I have seen. If you are wondering wether or not to go LCD or Plasma, a popularity contest is not the way to go about it on this site. I suggest going to your local electronics store and view any tv you are considering until you know in your heart which one you want to purchase, that way you don't get buyers remorse.
When I bought my sammy, I went to CC about ten times, first it was between 3 tv's, sony, panny and sammy, about the last 3 times I went it was just to see the sammy and my wife was like, just f-ing buy the damn thing so you have it and can get back to making sales calls...Opps. Never had a regret and have no desire to buy another tv for a long time. |

Well, right now we have a setup where we are about 6' away from the tv, maybe a little less, i've never measured it.
In what I've read the importance for image is: 1. Contrast Ratio 2. Color Saturatino 3. Color Accuracy 4. Resolution So if I stay below 50", I'm thinking I can go for a really high quality 720p tv instead of the 1080p's and save a little money. I'm set on plasma now for what I want just don't know what brand or model. |
