Default Bad PS3 drive

I have a 60gb PS3 and the drive will not load or eject discs anymore. J have opened the case and drive and cannot figure out why it is not loading the disc. Usually the sensor is the problem. Anyways, I can get a replacement drive, but is the PS3 drive the same piece that also has the laser? Or is the drive just the loading mechanism and the laser is on the board underneath? The white plastic part seems to be defective on my drive. I have provided a link to the ebay auction on the drive. Will this solve my problem if it is just the drive that is bad?

I think the load/eject mechanism comes with the laser that reads the drive (verification from the audience is accepted), so I don't think that drive will work for you since the laser does not work.

I would give it a try, but don't spend too much on the drive. Also, I have seen, but no real confirmation, that the drive i/o board must match the drive. So just replace the plastic and see if this works. If that still doesn't work, try replacing the drive mechanism. Remember get the same one as your current drive, there are two: one with one lens and one with two lenses. Which maybe the reason for the drive mech to match the right i/o board?
