Default Best Buy.com Pricing

I went to Best Buy this week and was gonna get:
The Mist ($29.99) and Pushing Daisies ($34.99) was the price on the shelf.

I went home and checked the online price, they had The Mist for $21.99 and Pushing Daisies for $27.99. So I ordered them and paid for them online choosing to pick them up at the store I was at. Saved me $15.

Just posting this for the people like me that do not pre-order online and go to the stores each week.

So what do you bring at the store for proof of payment? Do you print one out at home?
Sorry, never did it this way.

You can get them to price match there own site in store as well. You don't have to order and then go pick up.

All you need is the card you paid with and your photo ID. I usually just print the order receipt as well and bring it along cause it's easier for them to pull the order# off the print out. They also won't allow someone to pick it up in your place even if you give them your photo ID.

I've done this a bunch of times because the in-store price is sometimes cheaper than the store price (for obvious reasons). I also don't have to deal with any BB people other than the clerk which is always a big plus!

Someone also said that they can look up the online price and match it, which I've also had them do for me on a few occasions.

So always check online first. It can make things easier and cheaper.

LOL. I went in there the other day and 3 people asked me how I was doing, is there anything we can help you find. At one point the same person asked me again. Friggin robots. Ugh.

Today I got The Mist and Risky Business at BB. I just took them to customer service and the attractive female in the blue shirt matched their web price. You don't have to order online then pick them up.

There are other advantages to ordering online with store pick-up.

1. You can see if any of the stores near you have it in stock quicker than you can call them (and have their roboemployees search for it on the shelf). No wasted trip to the store.

2. Once you get to the front of the line at the pick-up counter, they have 5 minutes to fill your order (15 min for large stuff like appliances), or you get $10 off your order.

This happened to me when I ordered a DVD, received the email confirmation that it was ready, and went to pick it up. They didn't have it sitting right there at the counter and had to go searching for it on the shelf. My $19.99 purchase became $9.99 just like that. They knew they messed up and I didn't even have to ask for the discount. A simple "sorry" and they wrote off $10.

I've shopped online with them several times and, on average, I'm in and out of the store in about 3 min.

LOL, imagine that

Being we dont have a BB locally here I always do it that way to avoid the OOS issue after driving 45 minutes to get there. I did it with the 9.99 Heman Sale, worked like a charm

That's also one of the reasons why I do it. The nearest BB from me is about 8 miles and I drive a V8. There are times when I want something NOW, and with gas prices the way they are I don't want to waste a trip or wait for a time when I'm in the vicinity.

I have to second that on buying on-line and doing the in-store pick up. I picked up The Mist the other day for $11.99 due to the in-store pick up guarantee. It's the second time I've ordered on-line and gone to the store to pick it up, and the second time I've saved $10 (the first was with Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2). It's definitely worth the try, if they mess up, you benefit. That's the way customer service should work!

You can always have them price match what their INLINE has them for by taking them to customer service. I've done it about 3 times now they don't really question it at all. In fact they had a major class action lawsuit sometime ago because their in store INTRANET web prices were different than reg online internet prices and so they needed to stay consistent.

So they always have to match their online price, if asked by the customer.

I remember their intranet where they allowed you to actually look up an item. I noticed the price diff with their website and had asked about that on a few occasions, and each time I was simply told it was THE bestbuy.com website and I must have had the price wrong. I took it as a conspiracy to rip off the customer, and it was about that time that I started forming a negative opinion about BB. Now I know why they yanked the intranet from the stores I've used them in. Nevertheless, I still go there since I don't have many options where I live.

I had The Mist price-matched at Best Buy. The idiot at the checkout was looking over the printout and looking at the disc trying to find a discrepency, and he thought he "had me," and said, "Oh, see, you've got the 2-disc special edition here."

And i quickly said, "Yeah, there's only one version."

Retards...needless to say I got my discount.

that feature doesn't always work too well. i've tried that several times and then went in the store for something else only to find they did in fact have what i was looking for. you can't always tell if they have something in store just based on what their website says. it can be a good guide sometimes, but it often times is a mess.

I misspoke earlier. It's actually better than that. It's 1 minute for the normal stuff and 5 minutes for the larger items.

True, it's not always reliable - something may show as in-stock, but when you order it, you'll get an email stating that it isn't. But if I have no other reason to go to the store, I'll check the website.
