Ok I know I allready have had this topic on here but It's about a year later and things have changed. Today have another contender, EVD (Enhanced Versitile Disc). Who do you think will win.
BD-ROM faces an uphill challange because it dosen't have as many supporters as HD-DVD (such as evey company on DVD Fourm). Don't forget though that BD cna have a 50gb capasity if it is dual-layered. On the other hand, HD-DVD is limited by its expanded technology, only maxing out at 23gb on a HD-DVD DL Disc (remember BD-ROM is 50gb). EVD is a chinese solution to the pirocy problem in around the world. But, if there ar not as many pirated copies then sales would be much higher for Blu-ray & HD-DVD. Also, many legal copies of today's DVDs are made in China. If the Chinese Government bans the production of Blu-ray & HD-DVD in China and only allows the production of EVD, then there might not be as many BDs and HD-DVDs on the market. In the end the Movie studios and software giants will decide. |
